EVE Online cargo appraisal

• Estimated buy - what you get by dumping everything into existing buy orders. This is the number you care about when you want the ISK today.
• Estimated sell - what it costs to buy the same pile off sell orders, which is what replacing a lost ship actually costs.
• Average - the midpoint between the two. It is a paper value: nobody pays it, and we say so rather than presenting it as the price.
• Total volume - packaged m³, so you know whether it fits in the hauler you own.

From this instance's stored market snapshots, not from a live ESI call per item - a paste of fifty items would otherwise mean fifty round trips. The cost of that choice is stated openly on the result: the summary counts how many items actually got a price, and anything nobody trades at the chosen market is flagged in the table rather than silently counted as zero.

The default market is Jita IV-4, the game's reference hub. You can price against any tracked station, or against a whole region - in region mode each item takes the cheapest sell and the highest buy anywhere in it, which is what you would really get if you were willing to drive.

An appraisal can be published as a link that stays alive for 90 days. It keeps the prices of the day it was made - otherwise "this is what it was worth" would quietly turn into "this is what it is worth today", which is a different claim. Saved appraisals are not indexed by search engines.
