Terms of service and cookie policy
The rules for using EVE Omnitool, what we store, and how cookies and advertising work. Last updated 3 September 2026.
Who runs this service
EVE Omnitool is operated by me, Darius Ahachion, reachable at eve-omnitool@proton.me. It is a community tool built on the public EVE Online API. It is not a CCP Games product, and CCP neither endorses it nor is responsible for it.
What the service does
The service reads public market, universe and killboard data from EVE Online and presents it as search, comparison and intel tools. Most screens work without an account. Prices and other figures are snapshots, not a live feed, and can be out of date - every screen says how old its data is.
The figures here are information, not advice. Decisions you take in game are yours.
Accounts and EVE SSO
You can sign in with EVE SSO. Doing so links your EVE character to an account here and gives the service an access token limited to the scopes you approve - wallet, assets, orders, contracts, character location and the autopilot waypoint. The service never learns your EVE password and cannot act in game beyond setting an autopilot destination you asked for.
One account can have several characters linked to it, and a character belongs to exactly one account. You can unlink a character or delete the whole account at any time from your profile. Deleting the account removes your characters, favourites, shopping lists, tracked orders and wallet history. Revoking access is also possible from your EVE account settings at any time.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- scrape or automate the service beyond ordinary browsing, or work around its rate limits;
- use it to attack, harass or impersonate anyone;
- attempt to reach data belonging to accounts other than your own;
- resell access to the service or present its output as your own product.
Access may be suspended if the service is being used in a way that degrades it for everybody else.
Plans, advertising and payments
The free plan covers the whole toolset, allows two linked characters and shows the last 12 months of your account overview. Supporter plans raise or remove the character limit, open the full history and remove all advertising.
Older data is never deleted because of your plan - the free plan limits what you can look at, not what is kept. Moving to a supporter plan reveals everything collected while you were on the free plan.
Advertising is limited to fixed slots below the tools. There are no interstitials, pop-ups, floating bars or auto-playing media, and ads never appear inside a result table or above a tool.
Cookies and local storage
The service uses browser storage in three ways, and only the last two ask for your agreement:
| Category | What it is | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Your sign-in token, the short-lived cookies used during EVE SSO sign-in, and the record of this cookie choice. Without them signing in does not work. | Always on |
| Analytics | We count which pages get opened, so we know which tools are worth keeping. This is handled by PostHog on servers in the EU. We record the page address and nothing else - no clicks, no session recording, no profile built about you, and no query parameters. Pages reached through a share link report the route only, never the token that opens them. | Only with your agreement |
| Advertising | Ads pay for the free plan and are shown whatever you choose here. Whether they are personalised - and whether the ad network may set its own cookies - is decided in a separate consent message from our ad partner, shown alongside this one. That message is the only answer the network can read, which is why we do not ask about it here as well. Supporter plans have no ads at all. | Asked in a separate message |
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer - the banner opens again with More showing every category and a Necessary only button. Declining does not limit any feature of the service: analytics simply stops counting your visits. Advertising consent is managed in the ad partner’s own message, which has its own way back to it.
Data we store
For signed-in accounts: your EVE character identifiers and names, the ESI refresh token for each linked character, and whatever you create here - favourite items and locations, shopping lists, arbitrage reports, tracked orders, and the wallet and transaction history fetched from ESI on your behalf.
Public tools - item search, appraisal, D-Scan and intel - work without an account and without storing anything that identifies you. Shared appraisal and D-Scan links expire on their own.
Deleting your account removes this data. Arbitrage reports remain because they belong to the whole instance, but they stop carrying your name. For anything else, including a copy of your data, write to eve-omnitool@proton.me.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability or accuracy. It depends on third parties - CCP's API and the killboard stream - and stops being useful when they are down. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for losses arising from use of the service, in game or otherwise.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did. If the change affects cookies or advertising, the cookie banner asks again rather than assuming your earlier answer still applies.
